The Pat Beharriell CM and EODL Scholarships
CRITERIA and PROCESS
SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:
The scholarship is given to a person who is graduating or has graduated from high school.
The applicant will have been accepted and registered into a college, university, or any dramatic arts and sciences institute.
The applicant’s chosen program of studies will be in either
Live theatre (on stage or off); or
Film, TV, Internet
The applicant will provide proof that he/she is attending - or has been accepted into - a college, university, or dramatic arts and sciences institute.
The applicant need not belong to an EODL member group, however the applicant MUST, at some time, have worked on a production with the member group.
No applications will be accepted after August 31.
EODL PROCESS:
The EODL Executive and Board of Directors will establish the amount of the scholarship. For this year, there will be two scholarships given, at $400 each.
The EODL secretary will distribute scholarship invitations and applications to all paid-up group members of EODL; this will be undertaken in March or April.
The President will contact at least one of the applicant’s references.
The President will notify the three Section Chairs of the received applications.
The three Section Chairs, together with the President, will determine if the applicant qualifies and decide who should receive the EODL scholarships.
The President sends an email or letter congratulating the applicant and provides him/her with the details on when and how the scholarships will be awarded (during the November EODL One-Act Festival).
The President sends an email or letter to those applicants who were not chosen.
